1 上帝的證明

奧古斯丁最主要對上帝存在的證明，是從內在的思想角度出發的。也就是人的心靈具有把握必然與不變真理的能力，這種能力不可能來自人自身，於是永恆觀念超越人的心靈。

上帝是作為一切永恆不變真理的基礎與根源。

奧古斯丁關注的是人追求靈魂的過程，而非學院式的提出上帝存在的證明。
一個人用辯證邏輯證明上帝是一回事，一個人使自己臣服於上帝又是另一件事。
靈魂總是追求幸福，並且追求外在於自身的事物。但奧古斯丁認為，追尋上帝就必須從內在找尋。

理性／信仰：奧古斯丁雖然沒有排除前者，但他更關心的是後者，也就是靈魂追尋至善的渴望。

1. a theological doctrine that the divine ideas are the ontological basis of finite realites and of their knowability

2. the doctrine that all knowledge is based on the perception of the exemplars  of reality that exist in the mind of God.
3.the doctrine that the death of Christ is of service to humanity solely as an exemplar  of perfect love and self-surrender.
